This seller seems to have lost a little perspective:

This philatelic exhibition label was issued by a popular stamp club.

Stamp clubs are (usually) made up of stamp collectors.

Stamp collectors back then liked things like zeppelin airships and upside down vignettes.

So of course they're going to make things like this label.

And probably a lot of them, too.

Jim

p.s. I think I paid about $15 for my copy of this label. Guess I got a bargain?

Lost his perspective?

He saw Zeppelins, it was inverted, and he immediately thought this was the pot 'o gold at the end of the rainbow.

Well, if he holds onto it until 2540, he might get his price....

I for one can never understand why these folks charge so ridiculously and still charge for shipping.

If someone is so completely out of touch with reality to list something like this for nearly two grand, why would anyone else expect any level of sanity or sobriety with any further part of the transaction?

Nah, probably just easy access to a liquor store.

To some people it comes naturally, no added incentives are needed.

incentives

I shall henceforth refer to adult beverages as "incentives."

Sounds way more politically correct that way.

Jim

p.s. I haven't used "henceforth" in at least 20 years. Thanks, I think.

I second that wow. He has a lot of sales, but small denominations, not hundreds of dollars. People are fascinating!

Maybe he truly believes he has a find. Figuring people out is nearly impossible, makes for interesting reading on the Internet though!
