I thought I'd add that the Heritage Auction archives has images of over 500 of these--some may be duplicate records.

It appears that some have sold for high prices. It's free to set up an account if you want to check sold prices.

Slight side note Heritage has a record of 1243 and 1244 Coggon, Iowa postal notes same date https://currency.ha.com/itm/miscell...ption-071515

In the course of doing discovery and selling my Oil City Postal Note, I ended up working with a great hobbyist who specializes in these interesting items. He is compiling info for a possible book in the future and has been reading this thread. If anyone has any questions, is interested in learning more, or has any postal notes they would like to sell, let me know and I can put you in touch with him.

If you want to know more about your postal note, please contact me. I am researching these instruments of commerce and seeking images or information on unreported examples (i.e., examples that do not appear on the internet.) I appreciate all of the images already posted on this forum and would enjoy seeing more!

Here's one of only two reported postal notes from Macon, Georgia.

It is a Type II Postal Note issued on October 18,1884 as a souvenir note in the amount of two cents, payable at the post office in New York. This note, being a souvenir, was never redeemed.

Thanks!
