Seems unusual that the covers are postmarked with two different Washington, DC postmarks on the same day, presumably from the same office, all to W.J. Coombs in Indiana. |

A matter of stamp orientation. The horizontal stamps have a machine cancel which cancels all 4 stamps. The vertical stamps received the handstamp version since the 2 lower stamps in each block are too low to get canceled by the machine. |

Moyock13, Thanks for sharing these covers - very cool! If you would like to see more about these stamps, search for the thread I posted on the 1934 National Parks and 1935 Farley Reprints on this forum. I think you'll find it interesting.... |

Moyock,
If you are interested in these issues as am I, you should know that MYSTIC offers pages of all the Farley's. About 100 pages or so. I have them and they make for a very interesting collection. In fact, I keep them in a separate MYSTIC binder.

Stampman2002, thanks. I'll have to search your thread and have a read.
Jack, thanks for the tip. I'll have a look at MYSTIC.
I'm missing the first three in the set on covers, 1 cent Yosemite 2 cent Grand Canyon 3 cent Mt Rainier |

There is quite a back story to the "Farley Follies" imperforates. Sort of the precursor to the 1962 Dag Hammarskjöld fiasco. Several contemporary articles on both make for great reading. And then you have the recent "Inverted Jenny" play for more collector dollars. |

I don't use Mystic albums, so I don't know if the pages fit a standard 3-ring binder?

Kirks,
Yep. They are three holed pages and will fit. Try a Vario binder.
