The painting by G. Seurat has already been seen on page 7, but this stamp issued by the Solomon Islands brings out the colors especially nicely. One of four stamps honoring the artist, 2013.

Summer is coming to New Zealand, time to get out all the protective things for children at the beach: a parasol, a straw hat and blocker. Minisheet featuring three drawings done by youngsters. Another Children's Health stamp is pictured on page 3.

(The minisheet measures 13X9 cm and got a bit grainy in my scan.)

Another Spanish tourism stamp, this one showing several things you can enjoy on a vacation in Spain: historical buildings, paintings, sailing or just reading a good book and sipping delicious wine at the beach.

Cane Umbrella with Baubles.
Cinderella class : Poster Stamp.

Jersey (Island)

Jersey ( knitted over garment from Jersey) (way back)
In 1916, Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel upset the fashion industry by using jersey at a time when it was strictly associated with underwear. "This designer made jersey what it is today—we hope she's satisfied," said Vogue in 1917. "It's almost as much part of our lives as blue serge is."

Juan Dolio beach at the south coast of the Dominican Republic has almost pure white sand. It has become a popular resort area for folks escaping cold northern winters.

The crab and what it's doing catches your attention immediately but there are also 3 parasols and a lovely sand castle in the background. Vacation stamp 2016.

(A small afterthought: it's World Animal Day today, so this stamp reminds one to avoid disturbing the creatures of the beach.)

Here's a fun one I found looking at the tea pots: This one is labeled Venise, and that probably refers to the kind of pot created by artisans in Venice, Italy, with a Chinese motive. The Bernardaud company in Limoges, France, makes high quality porcelain, some also with patterns from other regions of the world. French booklet of 12 stamps featuring tea pots. "Forever" stamps for letters within France, 2018.

This is of course not a picture of a stamp, but it belongs to the topic, the umbrella as a symbol of protection on a bill of emergency currency. During times in which official money became worthless (for example hyperinflation after WWI), many cities printed bills for local use. The Steinfeld bill says "May God protect us from losing our homes!"

The Oromo people of Ethiopia build round houses with high roofs out of natural local materials. It's probably nice and cool in there in an otherwise very warm climate.
