Red stars did originally indicate certs. However I have gotten about 15 other stamps certed since then. and I need to update that aspect. I have four different shades of the #1, but I do not have the red-orange which will be my next. However, this is an often misattributed shade and I will only buy it with a PF CERT. |

I bought the 66TC from Kelleher w/o a cert, but it since came back with a clean cert. |

Any particular stamp you have a particular special fondness of? I was most impressed by the complete set of grilled banknotes
I'll bite Winston... The Scott 10 looks... well...not right/ out of place/sulfur in such a cool collection I noticed it as well. What's up? |

#10/11, #25/26 never really interested me, and consequently, they have never been my primary focus. I am much more into the 1c blues and the 13-16 imperf 10c.... |

BTW-that oxidized POS #10 came from Apfelbaum's. It was part of my "learning curve", and has since been replaced. In the next couple of weeks, I will post some more updated pics of my classics. Hopefully, in the next day or two, I can share some pics of my BOB, which I feel is the strength of my collection. I also have assembled several complete commem sets from 1893-1980, although I have a hard time getting too excited about them. |

Quote: BTW-that oxidized POS #10 came from Apfelbaum's. It was part of my "learning curve", and has since been replaced. That's good... A major fly in the ointment on that page. Highly unlikely that it is an orange brown stamp. Rare is the OB stamp that severely sulfurized. |

Any background on your Scott 142 (24c grill banknote). I just find this stamp so difficult. You get it at auction? Your 19th century collection is impressively complete. Scott 16, 19, 34, 39, 142-144... these are to me the tough ones. I hope one day I get them all. Then you can start upgrading once the spots are filled!!!! Fun |

Yes, 142 w/ PF cert came from a Siegel auction (I think...), and definitely shows up in their "Power Search" Quote: In the 74 spot, didn't look like the "scarlet"...is it? 74 is scarlet, and shows the characteristic intense shade, although the pic may not be the best. It has either a PF or APEX cert-I will have to check. These pics were all taken rather quickly on my iphone. A nice weekend project will be to shoot my entire collection with an SLR in a controlled environment. |
