I was down at the VGG a few years ago at the New Year's Levee and they opened up their VSC6000 so that collectors could look at their stamps. A collector had one of the $10 Whale stamps and you can see shapes and things hidden on the stamp under different light. Don't know if this was UV or IR or what but it shows that there s more security on that stamp than meets the eye.

Stamps from Estonia after WWI had patterns in the backgrounds for security.

Sure, on the whale stamp, isn't there a snorkeler in UV only?
