Just to add that the Irish Post Office issued two postcards to go along with the stamp shown above.
I was a member of Postcrossing for a year or so but I left it as I had reservations.
I was invited to a Meet Up on 12th October and they are really lovely people and I will certainly go again in November.
Stamp Collecting and PostCrossing need each other. Postcards are certainly more "social" than simply soaking a stamp off an envelope. My observation is that the vast majority of stamp collectors are men (and as "antique" as I am) but the majority of postcrossers are women and of all ages. Much more balanced in terms of gender, generation and outlook than Stamp Collectors..
Perhaps stamp collectors are from Mars and postcrossers are from Venus.
We could learn a lot from them. |
