When NZ Post raises the price of domestic postage, the private couriers also raise their prices. Rather than discard/destroy all of their old stamps, makeup rate stamps are printed. Makeup rate stamps are sometimes just words and numbers as shown here.

On January 21, 2016 Ireland issued a set of 16 designs for its 8th definitive series "Centenary of the 1916 Easter Uprising" in computer-vended "SOAR" (stamps on a roll) format. One of these designs shows the printed Proclamation of the Irish Republic.

The ancient wording on this 2018 computer-vended Irish stamp are from "St.Patrick's Confession", a 5th century (ca. 432-461 A.D.) autobiographical explanation of the cleric's life written in 62 paragraphs/passages. This particular writing is the oldest known version of the document. It is from the Book of Armagh, an 803 A.D. bound manuscript residing at Trinity College, Dublin.

The stamp is part of Ireland's 9th definitive series, "A History of Ireland in 100 Objects".
