The ancient wording on this 2018 computer-vended Irish stamp are from "St.Patrick's Confession", a 5th century (ca. 432-461 A.D.) autobiographical explanation of the cleric's life written in 62 paragraphs/passages. This particular writing is the oldest known version of the document. It is from the Book of Armagh, an 803 A.D. bound manuscript residing at Trinity College, Dublin. The stamp is part of Ireland's 9th definitive series, "A History of Ireland in 100 Objects". |
