Hi Nigel, thank you.
I recall the curiosity, when I first saw them.
They regularly pop up in Cinderella lots.

Unfortunately, I do not have the author of this work.
Possibly sent to me years ago

Found it ! "The Revenue Reverend"

There is more informative info about the history of the Red Cross labels in the SG British Commonwealth catalogues.

Very nice double ring Postmark, Linus.
These are relatively hard to find, most of them in my collection
are worn and deteriorating.
Good clear postmarks are a premium.

The were eventually replaced in 1939 by the single ring "BIRMINGHAM" Postmarks.

Here is one of my favorite Jamaica stamps. You can find it with both MCA and MSCA watermarks.

Yes, nice stamp KG6
Not seen that one before.
Design is lost on me, cherubs?
Perhaps..
In Islam, the cherubim are the angels closest to God and sometimes include the Bearers of the Throne

Rod,
I am not sure why the design was chosen, but it was used in one of two variations from 1920 until the early 1950's. It was modified after King George V died and was changed to show the new King George VI in 1938. So it must have been popular to be used for so long.

Lovely scan KG6
Do we know the printing process here ?

I have narrowed the Iconography down to my best guess.

Frame is constant British design of the time, interlaced Olives and leaves, (Peace)

The 2 "Cupids" probably the last association
Associations with peace, prosperity, mirth, and leisure

The two winged babies (Putti)

Iconography of the putto
The iconography of putti is deliberately unfixed, so that it is difficult to tell the difference between putti, cupids, and various forms of angels. They have no unique, immediately identifiable attributes, so that putti may have many meanings and roles in the context of art.

Some of the more common associations are:

Associations with Aphrodite, and so with romantic—or erotic—love
Associations with Heaven
Associations with peace, prosperity, mirth, and leisure
