I had to share some of these. I posted some examples in another thread, but they deserve one of their own. These stamps were all in a purchase only described as Great Britain Albums. There were a few bad pictures displayed, so I took a chance, mostly because I needed a few more albums. Individual pictures of what I received are shown below. Seahorses. These are sometimes difficult to identify correctly, but I have Scott 173 (Waterlow) for the 2sh6p stamp. The next two are the Bradbury Retouched versions due to the vertical height of the stamps. (Scott 180, 181) The last is easy to identify, since there is only a single version of this stamp (Scott 176).

Scott 209, MNH. Edit: Oops. I gave the same name twice today. Fixed. |

Here's Scott 142. There are two different printings (De La Rue and Somerset), but this appears to be De La Rue, based on the color. Great centering, in my opinion. |

Wow those beauties exemplify the art of engraving. But there is nothing wrong with that £1 Edward letterpress either. Nor with Vicky. Great acquisitions Partime. Thanks for showing them. |

Thanks for the comments. I've got more. Here's the Penny Black from the same acquisition. Cut too close on bottom edge, but a keeper, nonetheless. |

I like this Scott 10. The perforations are off just enough to make it look almost normal. |

So many key stamps in the one purchase - well done! Nice red Maltese cross cancel on the 1d black I'd like to see any of the lilac & greens or earlier line engraved issues. Yeh, I'm a big fan of QV Great Britain stamps. |

Here's Scott 2, cut too close at right, but I didn't have one, so now I do. |

Thanks Partime,
The greens look a lot better than many you usually see. Again, well done!!
What about higher face value QV & KE7? And the obvious question, was there a 2 shilling brown?

Sorry, nothing higher than 1 pound. For the price I paid, any one of the items I posted would have been enough to cover the purchase price. I'll post others as I get time. Happy Hunting! |

Very nice stamps, Especially the long 1 pound stamps. I think they look realy nice, too bad they are quite rare.
Anyway, beautiful stamps. -Julius |

Scott #3 with a nice cancel. The die appears a little worn on the corners. |
