Wow Rod and Bobby, those look to be an amazing source of information. I would love to get my hands on a couple of those issues, although shipping to the states might be cost prohibitive.. sigh.. I guess I'll have to come down there to buy some one day. Do either of you happen to know if the study club has them digitized? NSW is where I started with Australia by going through a pack of a 100 or so of the green 3p stamp (made my head spin a little).
The club has not digitised the magazine as far as I'm aware Willie.
A 2d Sydney View can be had for $100-$150 so not terribly expensive. The 2d stamps of New South Wales are the most common in the pre 1888 period.
Yes, those 3d stamps were printed over many years with a wide variety of watermarks, perforations and shades. A study of just that issue could easily be made!
I just wanted to let y'all know that I have a Linn's Philatelic Gems issue/book 2 that has an article on a tete-beche pair of these on a cover and that if there is interest I can scan it and upload it tomorrow. -Willie
