Floortrader: The red overprint is a forgery.there were never any red ovpt's.Only a dirty red crimson mixed with black ink.A better pic close up would be nice of the lot

Just as I thought ,your talking about the 1891 issue [basic stamp] and I was showing the 1892 issue . Gibbons has a note that the red 1891 issue in red are believed to be forgeries and your link shows the 1891 red-black issues. I will keep mine alone until better information is available

well; with the small pics I can't say much more.It would be nice too see a nice close of the
stamp though just for the record.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a perfect forgery of the overprint in red ink on the 1892 issue. There were no special red inks for the 1892 issue which lasted only a few months. The two M's are of the same width;uneven spacing between letters, wrong arabic letter forms.
