Can a misperf somehow create a seemingly imperf pair on one side of the stamp, and a dotted depressed line on the gum side? I don't see rounded perf on gum, so I am not sure if this is some sort of glued mess being passed off as a var imperf

Scott Specialized doesn't list an imperf for the modern stamp I'm looking at (early 70s) commemorative. I can post gum below

A picture of the front of this stamp would be most helpful.

Of the front side also please. The back image almost looks like a rouletted perforation from what I see. Thank you.

Blind perfs. So it is not imperf between.

Which means it is already well past any realistic value, which is only $3-$5 at best.

Very interesting. Just read some articles about blind perfs. Thanks for the info. Never knew about that term. I think that people might like it from an EFO perspective, driving up the price, but people, without a specialized cat may think it's something it's not. Glad I investigated, since I saw it gaining traction, and thought people knew something I didn't. Now it's the other way around :)

There are 3 different bidders over $20 that disagree with you

Eyeonthewall: this is the dichotomy. If 3 people who are not you see $25 of value in $.30 of stamps, then what is the value? My revised answer is 25. The market is speaking... As there is no imperf on that issue, does this come in as the next best thing? Does it now deserve a premium for being a rare find? A dealer will sell it to you as a rarity, but buy it from you as a blind perf with your mindset.

So the best thing to do is list and sell it several times to yourself (using a few different ebay accounts) at a high price. Then report these 'sales' to a catalog publisher as 'sold' prices.

For me this is a very interesting perforation EFO stamp, and if I could see the stamp personally or with really high resolution images, I would still be bidding at this moment. Of course it's not imperforate, but the perforation line is more "blind" than others I have seen. Or as another thought: what would be the value of a complete sheet of such a bad perforation line?

No, there are 3 different bidders who may or may not KNOW that it has blind perfs and might think it is actually imperf between. Which would be worth FAR more then what has been bid so far.

I tend to fall in love with particular modern EFOS, and I find it hard to separate emotions from reality when spending an otherwise inconsequential amounts, like $25. I know it might be worth $5 as revcollector states, but it might look really good on my page :)

A few questions - Do you think the stamp is misrepresented in its sale? Do you think the seller did his due diligence in the sale? I'd say no, and yes. It's brilliantly marketed for sure with a true auction format. Both sides of stamp are shown, you can certainly judge the pics for yourself. The description includes the words misperf. Blindperf is more accurate, but I feel that's more obscure of a philatelic term. It would certainly fall into misperf. Nowhere does he use the word imperf, and therein lies the brilliance of the lot. Clearly he figured out how to sell a $5 stamp for at least 5x value. Add on top of that, a seemingly good grade on it's centering, and boom. The question is does my love control my wallet? Will it control others?

Except that blind perfs are NOT misperfs. The perfs are in the correct location, they just did not get completely punched out. The words have two different meanings.

Just remember when the auction is over the value of the item is worth $1 more than the third highest bidder bid, assuming no new bidders

And assuming that the bids were real (not shill). And assuming that no one is quietly sitting on a large number which they have not yet flooded the market with.
