This boils down to whether or not the fees were disclosed in the listing and that remains unclear without more info.

Seller is charging me 4 euros postage; covers are oversize so I can hardly complain. He doesn't take Paypal, and I didn't want to pay 20-30 euros for an 8 euro wire transfer, so I bought 10 euros and mailed it. My costs: $19.10 for ten euros from currency exchange, plus $3.00 for an international stamp - this for a 4 euro cover.

I won't get drawn into this debate - again - for like the billionth time - but just some food for thought:

Imagine what a plane ticket to Germany would cost?!

We've all gotten very used to buying online & shipping. But we all forget what life was like before the internet. We don't spend any money anymore on plane tickets/gas/hotels etc in the endless search for stamps. Just postage. If you don't want larger postage costs, stick to sellers in your own country. (Or your home-town, where you can arrange to pick-up the stamps!)

I factor postage costs into my bidding & bid accordingly. It is simply the cost of doing business & the convenience of having access to sellers across the globe...

To be clear, I'm not complaining about the cost of postage, I agree with mdroth 100%.

p.s. I was happy to pay $20+ for the cover. I would not find it anywhere in Canada for twice the price.
