stallzer, I've found the solution to that particular problem is skipping the wife in the first place. Dale |

Just last night as my partner attempted to navigate through the stamp room to tell me something, she said, "Well I can still see parts of the floor here and there, so I guess it isn't technically hoarding yet".
She's a keeper. |

Its not good to lie to you wife. Eventually you'll get caught (She probably knows already anyways).

I declared myself an adult stamp collector on 31st October 1970 in a grandiose statement in my first real album......well written up page by page although there were very few actual stamps. Fifty years ago. It is changed. It is now little more than a branch of broader Memorabalia. Two weeks ago stamps were issued to "celebrate U2" the third time we have been celebrating U2 since 2002. They will be of more interest to fans of U2 than actual stamp collectors. Rather than pop music being a theme or topical in stamp collecting, we have evolved to the point where stamp collecting is a theme/topical in the Memorabalia hobby........like Star Trek, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter etc. |

Quote: ...Fifty years ago. It is changed. It is now little more than a branch of broader Memorabalia... The 1898 US Columbian commemorative issues were largely panned by the stamp using public and complaints from stamp collectors as 'excessive', 'un-needed' and 'simply a way for the post office to make money'. In my opinion, very little ever changes (or the more things change, the more they stay the same). Don |

They said the same things about the 1869 Pictorials. Stamps today are ridiculous. I'm glad I stopped after my last album was filled. 2019. It was crazy buying all those stamps and needing a new album every five years.

I wish Scott Catalog would make a 3 volume set of catalogs from 1941 to 1970 , so with the Classic volume plus 3 more ,then collectors have a reasonable amount to collect . |

The only adjustment I would make Floortrader is that for British Commonwealth, the Scott would start at 1938. |
