Sounds like your collection is quite similar to mine. If you do meet with the Kelleher rep, I would be interested in what they have to say. Haven't shown my collection to a dealer so can't comment on that. If I haven't settled on an approach in the next few months, since I live in AZ I may bring it to the Aripex show next February, assuming there ere a few appropriate dealers there, to see what they say. Has anyone done this at a stamp show? If so, what can I expect in terms of how long it'll take them to look the collection over and estimate what they might pay for it? Thanks.
I don't think this help you out, but the Kelleher rep said they would be at the Long Beach show next month. Not really close if you're in Arizona. I placed a collection of Morgan Dollars I had for auction about 30 years with a reputable firm at a Long Beach show. It was quick and easy however, I only had about 30 coins so it was fairly quick to inventory and give me the list. Later I was sent the auction catalog with my coins highlighted, then subsequently a prices realized sheet. I have many more times the number of stamps, so I think it will entail a lot more time. When I meet with him at his hotel I'm guessing he'll make a quick determination as to how much I should expect and if I decide to consign he'll take it with him and send me an inventoried list later. I have a detailed list with certificate numbers and pictures of each album page.
