The shipping terms specifically states Priority Mail with a guaranteed delivery date. If item does not get delivered by that guaranteed date, I can either receive a 5 dollar voucher from ebay or send item back at sellers expense. Seller is taking a risk being cheap at missing the guaranteed delivery date by using Media Mail, which item does not qualify for. If package gets inspected, then I will have to pay difference in postage, which is not covered by reimbursement or refuse package and file a case. In any case what seller did is against USPS regulations and not best practices.

I will wait optimistically for package. Yes, the 800 pound gorilla has been negative overall this year for me as a buyer after 17 years of smooth sailing.

Update: Package arrived safely! Claimed $5 voucher for late delivery (past Guaranteed Delivery date). Souvenir sheets were packed in a partial record album cover for protection. Pretty ingenious.

I see listings for the yearly USPS Commemorative Stamp albums that include the stamps of course and the listings indicated Media Mail for shipping. I know that books over 8 pages qualify for media mail, but does the addition of the stamps that comes with these yearly books nullify the Media Mail rate, since the package includes a non-Media Mail item?

If he stated he would send the stamps Priority Mail and charged me the cost for Priority Mail and then sent them Media Mail, I would first request a refund for the additional postage. If refused, I would report it to the Post Office for a Mail Fraud inquiry.

Let me see: Shipping was free. Package arrived in good order and you were able to get a $5.00 voucher for late delivery. And you're still worrying about whether souvenir sheets qualify for USPS media mail?

You got the item you paid for and free shipping. I would be happy receiving what I ordered and paid for.

I was concerned before the package arrived that it was sent Media Mail, when that was a violation of postal rules and the contracted agreement in the listing, whereby it was stated it would be sent Priority Mail. I would not have been happy receiving a postage due notice. Thankfully that didn't happen. And no, I'm not worrying about whether souvenir sheets qualify for media mail or not; obviously they don't. In my second post, I asked if the yearly USPS Commemorative Books that include stamps qualify for Media Mail.

Sellers that try to cheat the USPS and don't abide by the contract in the listing make people skeptical about buying on auction sites.

Was going to suggest you get a hobby, like stamp collecting, to maybe help you chill out a little.

Bud: Looking at the beautiful artistry of stamps is very relaxing. Just don't care for sellers who take the unethical approach.

This should in reality be posted on the ebay discussion boards, not here.

I'd much rather it be posted here. This is my go-to place to engage in philatelic repartee and a MUCH better place to learn from other philatelists.
