In the world of US taxpaids, repairs using pieces of other like stamps to make a whole stamp are pretty normal and is an accepted part of revenue collecting. I would put forth not many folks would be happy with a US #1 with pieces of 3 different stamps repaired together, however skillfully.

That is considered a faulty stamp. Not turning my nose up at it as I would rather have a repaired copy from a collection I purchase than have no copy at all, but I wouldn't search out a faulty copy unless it was truly rare and I have zero expectation of owning a normal copy in my lifetime.

Keep in mind some collectors chase the various forged examples as well and some are worth more than the original stamp. Others will have to speak to whether that is the case for early Brazil.

Reputation and a big following feeds upon itself for some oversized results. In some cases a schill following also does the trick. Relatively new unknown sellers will have a tougher time until building up a following and reputation. Some ebay sellers have a huge following of more money than brains and sell a ton of fakes and forgeries and repaired stamps. All kinds out there. No sense and nonsense.

I would argue that the OP's stamp IS a fake. Bits of stamps assembled into the vague shape of a Brazil Scott 2. Plus the giant repair in the lower right with added art.
