With the addition of the $5 denomination, my series is now complete. All MNH. For me, this is a big deal. Did a little hand-wringing while awaiting that specimen's delivery via today's embattled USPS.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example. I collect for enjoyment, not investment. APS Member #223433 Postmark Collectors Club Member #6333 Meter Stamp Society Member #1409 |

It is such a great "American" set of designs. So much more beautiful and meaningful then the flowers, hearts and cartoon characters stamps have devolved to in the United States. Of course now half of the subjects of the series are problematic to a small but vocal group that for some reason hold great power over politicians and those subjects need to be "cancelled". How silly. |

I started this set before I knew that centering was a "thing." But as they say, Est quod id est.
Fourth bureau is my favorite of all the U.S. definitive issues, quintessential in its tasteful design and elegant without being gaudy.

It was 98 years ago, a very different time. The general public today probably would not recognize half of these people. And the fact remains that the set has images of four slave owners plus a major league racist. Just because someone was president does not absolve them of who they were. |

The Democratic Party is one of the two major political parties in the United States, and the nation's oldest existing political party. After the Civil War, the party dominated in the South due to its opposition to civil and political rights for African Americans.
Sounds like it should be "canceled". |
