That large buyer could also be one of the regional auction firms who are making a presents on the internet . |

Looked at the US materiel and never even bothered to place a bid. Figured them going sky high anyway.
Not a lot of US collections coming up that I can see. Aldrich, who I'll never bid on anything from them ever again and a few smaller firms selling what looks like their own material in small lots.
*sigh*.....still waiting on Sparks to ship.. |

Wow - just looking now and those indeed are some pretty high final prices compared to estimates for many of the WW and country collection lots. Skipped this sale as the budget was used up at Sparks last week, glad I did now. |

I am used to Siegel's estimates being conservative, but this sale was ridiculous. I don't think conservative estimates were the issue, really, I think it had more to do with eBayers needing material and willing to pay more than normal. Cuz they are selling for more than normal. I got nothing. Can't wait for the COVID to be over. |

Yes !!! A lot of happy consignors .
But it has to be said ....That there is a lot of motivation for collectors to build those worldwide collections .The prices those Scott Internationals received ,gives me the idea to start looking for a 8 or 10 volume Scott Internationals in like new condition but lacking any stamp value . Then spend two or three years filling it with duplicates .
Those albums will have the highest return for my duplicates . |

Picked up some Swedish stamps at the Kelleher auction yesterday. First auction purchase that was not ebay. Wow. Buyers premium. |

Even after years of buying stuff, there are times when I find it alarmingly easy to forget the 25% I'll be hit with for the premium and postage. Acquire heavier items and the percentage really shoots up. |

Yep, then add in exchange for us non-US buyers and it ends up being way different than the price displayed on SAN. However, picked up 3 small collection lots at a good price at Kelleher that apparently no one else wanted, so happy about that. |
