Easier to "see" the 3 than a 5. Perhaps if we saw a "very characteristic Russian numeral 3"...

One has to take into consideration the cancel types between the circular ,rectangular,lozenge dotted cancels.They sometimes used slightly different numeral types.In the rectangular dotted type, the 3 & 5 could be confused because the middle section of the 5 points down like the 3.

The "3" is by no means a slam dunk. The numerals were not uniform across postmarks.

I'm pretty sure it's 50
I know my drawing probably doesn't make sense
But the middle of the three would extend out passed the bottom
Where the 5 meets (if that makes sense)
