This topic reminds me of my first foray into US classic stamps.

Here is the first SC 122 I bought. Although I have a much better copy, this is still a favorite. Why? There is just about everything imaginable wrong with this stamp. What attracted me was the location of the huge repair on the back of Lincoln's head - The same area where he was assassinated. Maybe I should get out more....

I don't know what it says about me that part of the appeal of this one was the same reason.



Love the example that you have. I suspect that, even in that condition, it's outside my reach.

It's surprising what attracts some collectors to a specific stamp or set.

I bought this stamp a long time ago. Be persistent on ebay, Hipstamp and others. You will be surprised what pops up occasionally.
