There is more published now on the large/small hole issue on early 20th Century material, even perforation pin diameters. The United States Specialist, journal of the United States Stamp Society (USSS, former BIA) is a source to check.

I suggest you don't go by that information for your Jefferson coil but look here: http://forums.delphiforums.com/stam...?msg=41176.1 where the hole sizes and explanation of why there are differences is covered.
