Are These Pm Or Crystal Mounts?

I do a lot of browsing for all of the oddball stamp things I like - both stamps and covers. And, though I did not document anything, it seems prices, in general are up. Much less buying for me at the moment, though I still seem to manage at least one purchase a week.

Is there a belief by companies that use mounts discussed in this thread that the stamp(s) underneath these mounts will likely never be removed by the purchaser, hence the poor quality mounts?

What is the purpose or market for these items vs non-encapsulated blocks, single stamps etc.? At least with non-encapsulated stamps that are purchased directly from the USPS, you can use the stamps years from now and they will retain FV, but with these iffy mounts, if you can't remove the stamps without damaging them, then you can't use the stamps and the purchase is arguably a waste of $$ from the inability to use the FV of the stamps.

I picked up a small collection at The APRL and the stamps were mounted with Protective mounts. Here is a scan of the back side of an album page. The stamps are in good condition so I think the adhesive is the problem. I removed the stamps from the mounts and will remount on Hagner stock sheets.
