 We are now on a new physical dedicated server. Not a virtual one anymore. Seems like we are flying now. I think everyone should be on the new server by now, all the way at the bottom of every page it will say Old or New. |

I could not access the site for a time this morning. I am glad to see that it was because of the upgrade. It's fine now.

You could still occasionally have have a reply take a bit to post because the reply table is really too big for MySQL. We have not upgraded that yet. But now the DB is on an SSD rather than an HDD and it's on a disk all by itself right on the same machine.
We will still upgrade the DB to MSSQL, but it's not urgent now. Will surely be easier to do now also since they are on the same machine. |

It's customary to drop the 'do'. It looks like some recent photo uploads have turned to default icons. |

Much faster. When I switched my server from HDD to SSD a few years ago it was a night-and-day improvement in speed and responsiveness. |

Bobby, Definitely noticing the speed increase. One bug -- the function to view a user's unarchived posts is kicking a VBScript error. Quote:
