Last autumn, as the leaves changed colors, my wife and I traveled to northeast Iowa and followed the Mississippi River all the way up to St. Paul, Minnesota. We stopped at an antiques store in La Crosse, Wisconsin where I found this unused postcard for a few dollars, for the topic. We were not far from Dyersville, Iowa where the Field of Dreams movie was filmed.
Not in formal uniforms and fairly "dressed up," one can speculate that these boys were playing a good old game of country hardball after church, perhaps, and paused for a photo.
