Two suspects as printed matter postmarks, one modern one QV.

In the absence of known examples with a barred numeral
(two bars straight underneath the numeral, RH portion of duplex)
this could well be an special Edinburgh printed matter strike
looks consistant with Edin postal strikes, the other, a modern Liverpool is either a parcel strike, or printed matter.

Interesting piece all round, is it on cover or cut square?

As an aside, it is curious to see a past tense of "to text" is that pronounced tex-ted, or texed ?

Good question Roddd222. With so many people texting on their phones, texting is now a verb. A new law was just passed in British Columbia, texting while driving your car is now illegal (as is talking on a cell phone).

Imagine this: BeeSee (me) texting in BC (the province) would get fined. The crime would be that BC TEXTED in BeeSee (or is that the other way around)?

This thread could use a bump...here are a couple more Vickis to throw into the mix.

I spent some time with Google trying to i.d. the MR...if someone knows of an online listing, it would be much appreciated.

MR = Manchester

The Foreign Service you have is uncatalogued.
(it differs in the two dots either side of the 12)

Your SW (southwest) 1910 is scarce
most went out of use by 1905, but some lasted as late as 1920

"Collect British Postmarks"
section 18
Newspaper Branch

Type 441 London circular marks with side shading
on an SG221 (or similar)

CV 75c

It is intereting to note, and NPB postmarks on postcards
were worth GBP4 each in 1983
So keep an eye out folks.

Sharp cancel. I think I have a small fraction of one of those that I couldn't identify. I recognize the hash marks around the ring.

A response in a Stitt-Dibden style :)
for your scrapbook...

One rotates the stamp over the black and white image
till it fits.
