Hi Mottaz,

The postmark with 'THAMES' is numeral 422 Kingston On Thames.

The Irish postmark is a 186 of Dublin.

The Belfast cancellation is probably a duplex. Generally, duplex cancellations were only issued to larger offices.

The CX/7 is Charing Cross, a London branch office.

The 114 is Scottish and belongs to Dundee.

The B4? cancel could be one of a number of offices. The lettering is ON rather than NO.

Please see the link on page 1 of this thread that Wilding mad suggested. That website is the best resource available for numeral cancellations, and in my opinion is one of the best philatelic online resources available.

However, if you prefer books, seek out a copy of British Post Office Numbers 1844-1906 by Brumell.

Hope this info helps

Hello every one this stamp what make me asked for plate 225 and 125 characteristics as this is 4 sure 3 digits plate number and the last two are 25 so the first digit is only 1 or 2 my eye and scans show trace of digit 2 to be plate 225 so I need to be sure I will send different scans for it and need your opinion.

Good morning mottaz,
I have done a sideways adjustment on the stamp you think is plate 225, and some close-up shots so as to get a better picture.

The only discernible number is the last one being a 5.
Unable to confirm your claim ! WM

@ Wilding mad I do as you done I got many scans and what I get as you say the last is 5 there is previous one hard to catch in scans I see by magnifying lens x15 ther is trace of the digit 2 but the first digit cant identify by any way thats why I asked for characteristics of plate 225 and 125 as this is the only possibility for this stamp, its for me a practical material for learning more.either wise I forget that stamp according to factor of losing time.

Good afternoon mottaz,

One of the better-known specialists of the penny red line engraved issues is Tim Clarke.

Here is a link based on his knowledge and findings

That is all I can offer you! WM.
