Standing Helvetia - Unclear Imprints Or Watermarks - Tips On Determing Which Stamp It Is?

Hi all,
It's been a bit, and I've got another question for you all.
There's a stamp I'm eyeing on an auction site, and it's kind of curious looking. It's one I'd want if it's real and if I'm properly identifying it as cross-in-oval type 1, but the paper kind of looks weird to me.
So...
1) Does this appear to be a Cross in Oval Type I?
2) Does the look of the Cross in Oval imprint and the paper in general, give you pause at all? Something seems odd about this stamp, almost like somebody tried to take a later stamp and make it look like an older stamp. Just curious if anyone has opinions.
