My thoughts were that I would put this collection in Palo pages but the collection is so well presented in the mounts and pages etc. that I have no intentions of redoing. The stamps I believe will stay in the mounts and I now know how to send to auction house when the time comes. It is a beautiful collection as is.
I purchased a China collection with split backs. Continued with them until I sold the collection. After that experience I switched over to top loaded. After that experience for years I used approval/dealer cards. Liked that method the best and it worked well for the stamps I collected. Now I am back almost full circle with the same mounts I used back in the day. I even not that long ago went back to hinges with Big Blue since sold off.
redwoodrandy: Now that you have read all of the suggestions, prepare yourself for the truth. You can never stop your stamps from moving about in their mounts and it's not your fault. It is the "Stamp Album Nymphs and Fairies." Laugh and scoff if you must, but you will find they are most assuredly real.
Stamp Album Nymphs and Fairies abhor perfection and delight in imperfections. Try as hard as you will to create perfect pages and once you close that album the nymphs and fairies play and dance amongst your stamps with nary a care about knocking them about as they frolic. They also are responsible for making your mounts ajar. You work with great care to place every mount in that perfect position; you come back days later only to fine one or two mounts slightly askew. Again it was the Nymphs and fairies at work.
Do not fret about something you can not change. Be satisfied that you did the best you could and take comfort in the fact that you can always readjust the stamps once again.
