It is not about how people want to be called. It is how people want you to call other people who have not asked to be called that. |

I guess I do not understand how feminine and masculine nouns can be removed from Russian, French, Spanish, and Arabic languages. Are these entire languages going to be redefined? Don |

Quote: It is not about how people want to be called. It is how people want you to call other people who have not asked to be called that. Have you asked them all? Do you know for a fact that no one wants to be called by those names? Is using a variety of pronouns to talk to a variety of people such a big problem in your life? Is this really such an important hill? |

Was this on the South Australian Labor party manifesto when they stood for office?
Of course it wasn't. Why? Because they knew the majority would reject it.
I know it's novel, but the majority rules in a democracy.
Confront, and reject outright, all forms of cultural Marxism wherever you see it. It's a scourge, nothing more, nothing less.
Over to South Australia. Who knows, maybe they (the plural of he, she, it by the way) want this. |

I apologise for posting this thread, I came from a position of just wanting to "understand" No malice, no preferred agenda.
From the responses I get the feeling, my perspective aligns with most, but I had to ask, I am a curious fellow.
Thanks for those that gave a considered response, I am happy now if the Mods decide to remove. I had hoped to get mature and reasoned personal responses.

Hi Rodney, While I agree that that topic has some overlap with the philatelic world, I shared your concern that this thread was going to devolve into 'left vs right'. What surprises me is the number of normally intelligent people who are so easily manipulated by those in power through the politicalizing of these kinds of social issues.
I think that those in power are sowing social divisiveness for an obvious reason; the real attention should be on their performance to govern our society and businesses. But the elite 1% know that they need to keep the majority of the population distracted and will do anything to keep their wealth and power.
It is important to note that the powerful elite are comprised of BOTH those on the right and the left. The powerful elite are not impacted by the politicalizing various social issues and fully know that they are actually doing damage to the social issues. 'Me Too', global warming, illegal drug use, sexism, racism are all legitimate issues which need us all to be able to discuss and find common ground if they are to be better understood.
Instead, we have normally rational people instantly being polarized by the seeded divisiveness. The solution to all this crap, both in life and in our little community here is simple; stop allowing others to pull your strings. Recognize that these social issues are too important to be used only to divide us all so that the 1% can stay in power. These issues deserve more than being used as a method to keep the ultrapowerful in control.
Can anyone make the argument that divisiveness created by the politicalizing various social issues is helping make a better world? Can anyone make the argument that divisiveness created by the politicalizing various social issues is helping this community? In my opinion the answer is an obvious 'no'. I agree with you that given the 'left vs. right' of some of the posts that there is no point in allowing this thread to remain open. Don
