Yup. I did however find a rather tatty one a few spaces down - I can post it later.

Nice item to have. A great re-entry. A pity the condition is not optimal.

As someone who often sells stuff I don't need for my collection, I note with interest the comments about pages. I cut down pages to ship in plastic protectors and also to save the buyer on postage costs. After reading this discussion I will now start to add an option to ship the whole page, subject to additional postal charges.

I would take issue with the previous comment about people rarely buying collections to build a collection. In my experience many do, as it is often cheaper to pluck the valuable stamps out of them, as opposed to buying them as singles. Having said this I would never buy a collection online, I always need to view. I have discovered that some dealers have a habit of getting rid of thinned valuable stamps by sticking them in run of the mill collections. So often have I seen this that it has become a golden rule never to buy a collection without first viewing it, in person.

Are you referring to:

Very, very few collections are bought to continue the collection.

?

Was the comment about the carrier of the collection and not the collection itself?

The comment was mine so please let me clarify it.

Collections are rarely bought to continue filling the empty spaces. To this end, the album leaves are of little value and serve as a notepad.

There is an exception that "theswedish" correctly mentions; old leaves are sometimes used as templates to mount faulty stamps and create the illusion of an old-time collection, fresh to market.

I too harvest what I like in a bought collection, and move what is surplus to my interests.
