Im asking because my 06 catalog only lists 3 three out of four letter combinations of the "original re-entries" listed under AS46(A)

@Just_fella

for "AS54" I see, " 1d. red-brown State 2: DK, PG, RF, RG, SE, SF, SG, TE, TF, TG, TH "

I do not see an AS54(A).

Im looking in the SG Queen Victoria, Vol1 , Part 1 Specialized Catalog.

EDIT: 1st Edition 2020

Thanks again stamps4life
That confirms the 4 original re-entries, one is missing from my SA54 (a.) Listing.

Now this part,
Does this mean (54) positions needed to be repaired by re-entry, the impression from the (54) wore poorly or something else?

For whatever reason, 54 positions wore poorly and had to be repaired. Those would now be considered as "State 2" variety.

Thanks stamps4life,
So gibbons only listed 54 of the *possible re-entries and used that number to identify the group, made sense to me.

Edited to add*
