Hello everyone. I'm sure glad to be part of the community. I've been studying stamps for 6 yrs now. I've found my golden ticket about three times now. But come to find out I didn't. Lol. So now I'm hooked and enjoy my stamps. The art work on some of them are Amazing. I was tearing down a old house when I came across them. And really need you guys to help me with this stamp that is impossible to be the only one of it's kind. I'm going to post it so please look for it. Thanks you. You will know it when you see it. Lol

Sounds good. I suppose when you say from 1836, you mean covers without stamps. No stamps were issued until 6 May 1840 (although known to have been stuck on mail from 1 May 1840). |

Here is what I believe to be the impossible stamp to find . At least one of them. Scott's 194 USED!!! The letter inside is dated 1889. It's all checks out ,but what is the kicker is it's had been glued on. Whoever uses an excessive amount of glue and it got brittle over time and came off on its on. It being glued on is really got me convinced. Here is a pic. |

Quote: Here is what I believe to be the impossible stamp to find Everything is possible. But this, usually, means it just does not exist. Why do you think you have a stamp that eluded everyone for 144 years? I do not think anyone can confirm your find from that picture. |

Personally, I find your repeated blind optimism both frustrating and encouraging. But on behalf of the whole community, let me say that the picture you've posted isn't good enough for anyone to make even a vague determination. Too blurry, too small, too poorly lit. If you can offer us a scan (or at least a much better picture), I'm certain you'll get constructive input. |

Quote: Scott's 194 USED!!! RobCarlos, So how did you eliminate this from being 136, 147, 158, or 207? Also, the letter rate went from 3 cents to 2 cents in 1883, so there is a good chance the letter and the envelope were mis-matched some time in the past, rather than overpaid. It begs for a careful examination. |

Of course, you can have it certified. We will be very eager to see that certificate.
As someone once posted: 'It isn't a Scott nr. XXX until a certificate says it is.' |

Almost forgot. The letter inside it is from a woman writing her cuzin Henry, Cuz he husband hasn't been back and the taxes to the land was due and she didn't know if there would be enough wheat to pay the taxes. She was needing his help ASAP. So I'm thinking she used his stamp that he was collecting to get a hold of him for help. The glue is on the back of the stamp as well. I'm hoping a professional would be able to see the glue is the same on both. Plus they could tell if there was some of the original glue on the stamp or if it's only the glue used. The clues all lead to yes. |

It sounds as if the letter itself is far more interesting than the stamp. |

It has the secret maker. The image is crisper cuz it was steam printed. And the fibers tell me it's soft paper. And there isn't a line under the banner, below the last two letters of three. |

Rob, you can edit your title and change the erroneous date. If you can not do it, just send a note to staff ( click on 'note to staff' ) on every page!
