I'm sorry to read about this experience and the breakdown in communications. Every APS member deserves a response, even if it's not conclusive.

One of my horizon projects is to automate the APEX notification system at each step of the process to ensure members are updated as it goes from expert and back and if it needs another expert opinion to the certificate preparation process. This takes some of the wondering away from our clients as a patient goes through the journey.

I am also able to further review your past experience with our team for improvements to the current process.

This is also an open note if ever there is something we need to address at the APS, Please feel free to reach out to me directly. No APS member needs more red tape in their lives, and I'm here to help. Thank you for all you do for the APS!

Scott

That sounds like a very good idea.
It also sounds like something that could be implemented without too much upheaval.

Adding a data point, my cert was still pending at the 4 month mark. I emailed and the reply was the stamp was found to be misidentified (bought from a APS circuit). Not sure if it really took 4 months to determine that or if it was sitting there for a while. Either way, they took care of inquiry quickly.

The few I've sent in to the APS take around 90 days. Not saying this is good or bad; good might be multiple experts making sure they get it right; bad might be something else. Not judging, just a statement of my personal experience and have nothing bad to say about the APS in general just to be clear.

That said, if you buy a stamp with an APS contingency on a cert; make sure you bake in 120 days or otherwise negotiate something to keep you in the clear. I got somewhat burned on a 90-day contingency and learned the hard way. (More a lesson on what a particular dealer's practices were and sufficed to say that dealer will never get another nickel of my cash. Ever.)
