Impressive pages!
Did they issue stamps after the 70's?

Petert, yes; I just stop my albums at 1970. Arbitrary, but just where I've personally found stamps become less attractive and the mass-production era starts.

Floortrader, thank you.

Brilliant! Great job Andy! It's awesome to see the QV, Edward and KGs-era sets complete and so clean looking.

I see now that Steiner only goes for "face different" stamps. There are no perf varieties, evidently.

Lovely stamps. As always, I think these deserve better than Steiner. The page where he mixes GV and GVI commemoratives isn't one of his better efforts.

Nicholas, mixed, NH and H. With the Scott 20 as an example, just finding one took years. I tried to simply find fairly well centered stamps first.

Geoff, I agree with you (and think most will) that Steiner pages aren't exactly the most presentable. That said, it has opened up the ability to create so many albums that I never would have given a second though to. Of course, that debate has been had here many times! But what would you suggest? I've thought about moving some completed countries/territories to different albums.

Each collector decides for themselves which is the best method to maintain their collection .

I follow the way PHILIPP Von FERRARY kept his collection ,that caused a lot of issues with the Paris stamp community . He made his own style of collecting . He didn't like the pin holes in his stamps ,he like using separate binders for each country . ,he was big into collecting different shades . He traveled for his stamps and didn't get along with the stamp dealers at the bourse in Paris .

Here is a page I max out and any additions will mean breaking this series down to two pages ,as you can see it has both different shades and different perforations going beyond just filling blank spaces ,also the scans here never show all the footnotes and other information that I write on the edges .

For the Gibraltar page, it seems like a second copy of the exact page could be justified. Even with the varieties Paul already has, there are even more that could populate a new page. Definitely a limitation of Steiner pages from my perspective. Notice how each perf variety also has a shade difference? Very typical of KGVI collecting and almost all are listed in Scott.

Andyrich74:

Lovely collection!

Without too much difficulty, AlbumEasy could be used to create varieties pages to either integrate with the Steiner pages, or to create a new section of the country pages, with the idea of a separate country album. The easiest way to do this would be to use quadrille pages for this purpose, which could also be done in AlbumEasy (using the Steiner page clone border shell).

John

The George VI definitives with multiple perf varieties (Gibraltar, Ceylon, KUT etc) are a quandary. If I have enough, I'll organise separate pages or pages with all of the varieties. More commonly, I'll have a "best of" page to avoid having several pages with lots of gaps.

Does Bill Steiner still release his PageMaker files? If so you can easily make changes, though these days you have to use InDesign since you can't buy PageMaker anywhere that I know if... I bought his PM files back in the day and use them as the basis for my own pages, since I pretty much always expand a lot on the Scott major numbers.
