I confess complete ignorance here. What constitutes Canadian picture postage stamps? Are they personalized stamps, or are they some special Canadian series?

Stranded somewhere south of the St. Lawrence Seaway...

Here is a link to a previous thread that has an explanation of Picture Postage taken from the Scott Catalogue in it plus some pics of the special stamps made by the Canadian Bank Note Company to use as postage on their mailings to those who buy sheets of 21 or 40 (or multiples thereof) of these stamps from them:

The first issue of Picture Postage, greetings with a twist.
April 2000 booklet Scott catalogue #BK 277, stamp #1853

and the inside of the booklet with a special order form on it:

From eBay

You could use this order form to send away with your picture and they would return a sheet of 25 stamps and 25 labels made from your picture.

These year 2000 gold-bordered Picture Postage, when placed on an envelope, looked like one of the ones shown below:

You did not have to apply the label/sticker to make the stamp valid for postage.

From ebay seller melipier

Or from the personalized / personalised (British/Australian) sheet labels you could produce stamps like these:

From the Internet.

All from the Internet.

Hi !

Here is my small collection of picture postage stamps

The first one I buy them on ebay because I (try to) make only one topic and it's baseball and I need absolutly them :)
The second I find them in the postage where I work, it's from " alarme Jenco "
The third is the stamps that I receive when I order some
The last one it's the order lol, it's the compagny where I work and I simply order some stamps with the logo. The major part are cancelled on a enveloppe, all the same day.

I hope that you like them :)

THanks !

Later that year in October 2000, Canada Post decided to release a booklet with Christmas-themed personalize-able stamps. Same idea and order form as the ones above. Scott catalogue #1872, BK 232, 46 cents

From ebay seller friendly_stamps.

And again in December 2000, Scott #1882 (1882a-e), BK 240, 47 cents

From ebay seller saskconnection.

And then again in September 2001, Scott #1918 and 1918a-e), BK 246, (47 cents rate but non-denominated, saying Domestic lettermail)

From ebay seller arve_covers.

ccool,
Those are some nice stamps.

I have never seen three stamps on the same envelope from the Canadian Bank Note Company (where Picture Postage stamps are ordered from and printed). can you do a 200 kb scan of just that 'cut corner' please?

And a closer scan of your three stamps?

All smaller scans of no more than 200kn please as my old slow-speed connection will time-out loading larger images. Thanks.

A 2000 47 cent #1882a

From the Internet.

A 2001 #1918a, 'Domestic Lettermail' non-denominated stamp, with a personal label (gee is that another Newfoundland dog?) on it. From the same dog kennel site. Great subject matter.

From ebay years ago.

These older personalized stamps are harder to get because not as many people were creating and making them at the time. I only have one or two myself.

October 2004, 49 cent era (non-denominated stamps),
Scott #2063 (silver ribbon style frame)
and #2064 (photo album style frame)
First Day Cover.

From the Puzzler Collection.

The phosphorescence on the original ones is different than on the personalized ones. Some good photos on Bee See's web site at http://brcstamps.com/pr15_pic_post.htm
