Hi all: In 2006 Canada Post lists the following envelopes as issued but shows no pictures. Were any of these issued with Picture Postage stamps or was Purdy's Chocolates in Feb. 2007 the first one I searched E-bay on all of them and came up blank. 2006 Commemorative Envelopes * May: Benjamin Franklin * Oct 12: Hungarian Immigration: 50th anniversary * Oct 16: Canada Post Corporation: 25th anniversary Cheers Murray |

I get it - so your list is complete - there was no Ben Franklin in Feb of 2006. Great - I did a lot of research to see what is on your website - but don't worry - the work was good for me Cheers |

Hey guys - that bunch that is on E-bay - I put a bid one the ones I don't have. I don't know why nobody bids till the end but.... So if you want to go for the others you wont be against me. And if there is something you really fancy let me know and I will back off. Email me with instructions OK. |

Thanks for the heads up. I was saving a bit for the stamp club meeting tomorrow night. We will see if I have any left after that. Some of those are nice. |

Side note: If you look outside of this thread in the list of topics then you will see that this topic had had over 4000 visitors so far. I think this is great as it displays the variety of Picture Postage available to the collector today, plus the difficulties in obtaining some.
The older Picture Postage (before 2004) are much rarer and thus harder to obtain or even find. I only have one or two myself, mostly from lack of funding I must admit). They are a study in themselves.
You will find that certain subjects always come up, babies and people. Usually these are not the most exciting of topics to collect, at least for me that is. There are the exceptions, the really happy photos, the ones which are composed well, the colors are striking, etc, etc.
These will appeal to everyone so thus making the stamps more sought after and thus worth more, if listed at a time when many are watching and in a buying mood and described correctly so that buyers can find them.
Many factors.
The above stamps do not seem to have a wide appeal other than the collector of one of everything type (me and a lot of others I would think).
Some do not even bother all the time with the older types, they are happy with an example of each type. |
