Rallyman, if you need a description for my avatar, it is "Oscar the Red-eared turtle". I got your email, I will send better resolutions of my other stamps. |

rallymanm, that is a black and white cat looking out a window with some kind of decoration or something behind it. Christmas tree maybe? Not sure. He is good at camouflage isn't he? he's hunting! |

Hey Puzzler - can you get me one of these - I understand the chap who makes them is in your area. |

rallymanm and Bee See, those covers come five covers in a set and 8 sets made (so 40 stamps used, a full-sized sheet). The guy told me he had made a set with one stamp and they were gone. I got a set of 5 of the 2nd stamp. He said he had more of the second set but that was last year. I will ask this meeting. ]
The set is all the same stamp and cover but five different cancels, Port Williams being one of them, saying New England Planters but from different towns in the Annapolis Valley here in NS.
I can see if he has any more sets and if only one cover is wanted by each I will just get the five covers and sell off the other three. Next meeting is in March. He seems to go every time but I am the sluggard not showing up sometimes.
I am wanting two other covers of a different type from him also (and maybe three now). We will see what he has. I am actually having a couple of tight months on the wallet so it may be a month before I can round any up. |

Puzzler:I was under the impression that there are only 2 different covers if you ignore the cancels. One with the tree stamp and 1 with the cairn in it like the 2 pictures I have on the website under covers and cancels. I have the one with the cairn stamp and the Canning cancel shown there and only wish to own the other one. Let me know if my analysis is correct or if Alzheimers is winning.... Cheers Murray

Quote: Puzzler:I was under the impression that there are only 2 different covers if you ignore the cancels. . . . One with the tree stamp and one with the cairn in it . . . You are correct. I have only the one with the tree stamp and that is the one that was still available months ago. He sells them as sets of five (five different cancels on same stamps and covers). If he has any more sets I will get a set and now you have the Canning cancel reserved for you. I had not seen the cairn stamp, he just mentioned that the first set he made was all gone. Just bear with me and my seeming Alzheimer's! |

Puzzler, I noticed some people posting on this topics used your own picture postage as your Avatar . How can I do that too? |

Hi Gilles, First you need a scan or photo (flat) of your stamp. It does not need to be cropped to remove the excess space around it but that is ideal. Then go to the Support and Testing Area and then the Stamp Community Family Updates topic. Or click here: https://goscf.com/f/12Start a New Topic calling it Avatar Request or something similar. Post your stamp's scan in your posting. After a time the administrator(s) of the forum will see it and, if it is OK, make it your avatar. To change this avatar just do the same thing all over again. |

Sorry, I am a bit scattered today. Looks nice.
I have the stamps of the lady pilots but no covers. I did not even look closely at the wording on them, shame on me. And I call myself a philatelist. |
