I have a stamp here it's a 3cent Connecticut charter oak. Just wanted to know if anyone has seen something similar before? I have one where there is no slash in the cent symbol. Is this unique or rare? Any feedback back would be appreciated thank you

As noted above, listed in Scott. Also listed in French's "Encyclopedia of Plate Varieties ..." and known since the issue was current. Being position 4 of the upper right pane of plate 21395, places it as the upper left stamp in the plate block, thus many survive and it is easy to identify/find. |

Ah gotcha guys thank you! So not so uncommon. This philatelic eco system is new to me and wow how interesting and amazing it truly is. I just inherited a meticulously crafted collection that had been started by my great grandfather. So two men before me whom were great human beings had been orchestrating this great collective effort that I am now learning about. |

I'm sorry but it's not a broken cents symbol the whole slash is missing in the bottom right corner it's just a C… has anyone ever seen or heard of this before on the 1935 Connecticut charter oak (violet)stamp? |

It's just as eyesonthewall says - "defect in cent sign". Here's the picture from the Scott's US Specialized Catalog. $5 catalog value. Pretty much matches your pic. |

In addition I'm just poking around to see if anyone has seen this before other than cataloging. In the field has anyone come across one out in the open? |

Hanon, can you get a more clear picture of your stamp? Even with the blurry one, it looks like the top part of the slash is there. |
