Austrian Postcard with value imprint Cancelled on March 26 1927 at WIEN The card commemorated the 100th anniversary of Beethoven's death.  The front of the PC shows some of the houses he lived in. I visited the Heiligenstadt one when I was in Vienna a few years ago.  |

For today: Winter Harbour 2 April 1969 on Scott #459  Winter Harbour is a small fishing and logging village at the head of Forward Arm of Quatsino Inlet on the northern end of Vancouver Island. It gets its name because it was a refuge for vessels during winter storms. The population in 2000 was 51. Jan |
