Closed Album - Hermann Ivester Rip

With the heaviest of hearts I pass the news of Hermann Ivester's passing yesterday. He passed away peacefully after dealing with health issues for many months.

For those that are not aware, he was a huge name in the US revenue world, cataloging several subjects to include the Saint Louis Provisional Revenue section in Scott (RS320 – RS395, which he had complete), the US Custom's baggage tags (not the Scott RKs), and the Arkansas state revenues in the 2nd Edition SRS catalog. He collected many more topics and liked revenue stamps others didn't collect.

He served in several positions in the American Revenue Association (ARA) and as President of the State Revenue Society (SRS). I believe he also was a member of many other stamp societies.

More to come as we hear from his family.

In addition to being a long time stamp collector, he was a gentleman, and will be sorely missed!

Sorry to hear this. Although I did not know him personally, I was certainly aware of his work in the revenue field, and had been for many years.
