a yearly worldwide sub is $550

Is that for digital?

Pricing I see is $702 plus tax and any shipping then you have the Classic and US Specialized and the publications which were moved to stand alone in the past several years.

Edited to correct spelling of then.

A little hard to tell, but I reckon that, in comparison, the annual cost of the basic digital Yvert plus the more specialist volumes (1840-1940, 1940-1960, France, Colonies etc) is around €300.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this as well, with my main hope being more and better digital offerings. It's been impossible to get even simple digital things via prior ownership. I had asked once about just able to download a country's listings in Excel format with just catalog numbers and prices, no descriptions, no pictures, etc. Even that's not an option, even if you want to pay for it.

I actually prefer to use print for most day-to-day use, but there is so much more one could do with a robust digital suite. I expect it'll be some time before new ownership is able to develop and offer such improvements, but hopefully that's in the cards in the not too distant future.

That data is hard for them to sell in that sort of format; even if you pay for an excel sheet of prices, there's nothing stopping you from distributing it more widely. Not surprised that they would decline. I'm hopeful that there will be an intelligent way for folks to interact with this data - some sort of plugin, API, etc. that interfaces with whatever method used to manage a collection.

Vol 1 through 6 digital price is $549.99 for one year use. The print price is $708.94 so the price gap has increased. I would not pay that much for something that you can only use for one year. For the time I would use it, it would translate to a very high cost per hour.

The digital British Commonwealth subscription is $149.99 per year. France and German regionals are $129.99.

If the new owners are able to knock 50% or so off the current price then you might see some uptake in the number of digital subscriptions sold. Then it would be more in line with the offerings from Michel and Yvert.

Just my $0.02.
