I realize this is a long shot, but I am looking for Showgard stamp tongs, specifically the 908 style: long with extra sharp points. NOT the 902s, I've got plenty of those.

Thanks!

You can't be allowed to have those, you will poke your eye out!!!

Several years ago I managed to find my second pair and snapped it up, but had to pay extra because they are gold plated. Silliest thing ever (gold plated tongs).

That said, I am very glad I did as I have my primary boring 908s, and my spare gaudy 908s and haven't seen a pair for sale since.

I have heard folks moaning about it for years, but no real success stories for buying them new - just "as part of a collection".

I wish you success, even if you have to buy a gold plated pair...

Realistically though - how many would sell if they were available? 100? 200? 300? Hardly a giant market need.

Do you have a direct link? I can find every number except 908 on their website. The pointed ones for just under $8 are 902s not 908. Thanks.

Heck, I searched 908 and it got to site, saw sharp tongs without # and thought I found some. They are 902's . Sorry, I jumped on that too fast.

I took a photo of Golden Valley Stamp and coins stamp tongs a month ago and sure enough, lots of 'em but the 908 peg hook was empty. Couldn't hurt to call and ask though.

If what you're linking to are model-maker's tweezers, I tried those when I couldn't find 902 anywhere a few years ago (there was a protracted outage). The problem with the model-maker's tweezers is that the taper angles are wrong and typically they are not thin enough at the tip to easily slip under glassine or plastic strips in stock books.

Thanks though.

EDIT: I see you deleted your original postand reposted the link to now be an ebay link. The problem with the 50631, assuming that the tips and taper are correct, is that according to specs elsewhere, they are short tongs, only 4.5 inches long rather than the 6-inch tongs like the 902 & 908.
