This may not mean much to you or the stamp community . But to me it was a big part of my life . Took my wife there before she was my wife 52 years ago ,then took my two daughters to sit thru a few auctions only if they got treats from the candy machines 4 floors below . Then hot carmel popcorn from the store next to John Ross 's Stamp Store for the ride home .

So since over the years they got about $150,000 from me it only made sense to get some stuff at their last auction . Hey,why not ,wife agreed but I think wife agree and happy only because it was the LAST AUCTION .

When I started with them the mother of Kevim , Kim and Kristin{the present owners } . She was the sister of Dick and Jim ,so she was a Rasdale, set my account up ,so I didn't have to pay for any lot taken by me from their retail business and from their auctions , no cash and carry ,just take what I wanted . She understood just mail my wife the bill because I never had any money and a check will follow in just a few days . ---- Great System . By the way it works in 2026 worked since 1972 .

So I wanted their very last auction lot but I had that stamp already so settled on the second to last lot {see below } So I say the last group since the last two stamps were Yugoslavia ,so my saying the last group is correct .

Floortrader, that is great story! Must have been a bittersweet trip with so many memories floating around. Also, thinking of the joy you have had sorting through your won lots and finding the unexpected.

I sometimes will close my eyes before bed and envision stamp stores and shows I've been to over the last 55+ years. Relaxing. Thanks for sharing this!
