I am interested to get some feed back on what people prefer, auction or fixed price, to buy their stamps and the why would be very helpful.

Had a look in search area and found nothing specific. I was very surprised.

Have changed to free mailing and the cost to list fixed price is tempting.

Always Happy Stamping. KGV

Always auction for me I like to get a deal. But if I get into a bidding war will go high to almost catalog value.

Some of the fixed prices are a bit over the top but if the price is fair I will buy, Having said that auctions are
good because you can set your own limits and maybe get lucky.

PS not your prices others

Thanks for the replies. Auctions are good, it is the way of stamping really.

I generally go for auctions, but if I find something for fixed price that I'm prepared to pay, I'll buy it.

I prefer auction over fixed price most likely because it makes me feel that I'm getting the item at a favorable price.

But I also make fixed price purchases for those "must have" items as well as items that aren't frequently offered at auction.

The downside of purchasing via auctions is that it requires both a great deal of patience and an ability to tolerate much disappointment.

From my perspective, a seller who uses both marketing methods will have greater appeal than one who is only one or the other approach.

Auctions always,
gives everyone a fair chance.
I find it irritating here when I log on
and find sales are finished on a lot I may have
paid higher for, but late due to geographic area.
I no longer go into "sales".
