Ok folks I have so many pics here I will post one a day. These are some FDC's I more or less "stole" at a yard sale recently. I got all of the covers you will see over the next week or so for a whopping $4 completel with FDC Album. I hope you all enjoy them as much I am. https://www.stampcommunity.org/uplo...covers1.jpg" border="0" style='cursor:default' onClick='doimage(this, event)'>

Thats the way to do it !! yard sales are great hunting grounds...most just want to clear stuff out of the basement and have no idea of value when it comes to stamps !! |

Thanks LaSwabbie, I think my collection will consist of mostly postally used items because I don't think I will be able to afford anything mint except for current stamps I can go buy at local USPO. And I hope you guys are ready for the next because here it is. https://www.stampcommunity.org/uplo...covers3.jpg" border="0" style='cursor:default' onClick='doimage(this, event)'> |

Cimm, the 1944 railroad stamp fdc has a Smartcrft/Staele cachet, the 1940s first day cover catalog I have gives it a value of 5 dollars !Catalog prices are catalog prices but if a collector was looking to collect all the cachets ..there are 55 different ones in the catalog for that first day cover..its probably worth a couple of bucks ! |

Cimmaron Warrior thanks for checking out Stampoffers ! A lot of the folks there do not have a stamp shop or a stamp club near them..so its a great shopping market for them...i like to attend stamp shows but I must admit postage is cheaper than gasoline !! |

Hello Richard......
You have found yourself a really nice one......The Transcontinental Railroad with block of 4 books at $10.50.......if that is an L.W. Steahle cachet it gets multiplied by 8-20 depending on condition..........according to my 2007 Mellones catalog. Mellones catalogs can be found at Amos Press, the same folks that produce Linn's Stamp News and the Scott Catalogs. The 08 Mellones is available now, 09 will be out in October. The Mellones Cats only cost about $10 - $14.00 +shipping. If you subscribe to Linn's you'll get a 10% discount on any of the Amos Press Products. |
