I know what kiloware is and have had hours of fun going through 100's of stamps, but tonight I came across a site that sold bundleware. I was looking at it and thinking that it would be nice to have 100's of little piles of all the same stamps from different countries, but isn't that what I've been doing with my kiloware? I mean, ultimately I am sorting, checking against what I have missing in my albums, then against the doubles that I already have and then I get a bundle of the same type of stamp.

Has anyone else used bundleware? Am I missing something else that I could be doing with it?

Donna

Bundleware is exactly that. Small bundles of the same stamp [often 100] bound together with paperwrap and sold to packet makers ,dealers or those that look for varieties !

If you want 100 of the same stamp then this is for you !

I've noticed it also but haven't got any as yet. I thought it would be a source for cancels of different towns or types.

Or if you want to look for tagging varieties, shades, fly-specking, doing a study of some sort.

I would think it would be like kiloware in that the quality depends on who has been through it before you get it. That doesn't mean that it would not be worthwhile, just to know what you are getting.

Here is some Bundleware in all it's glory !

The top is what I am talking about when I said paperwrap.
As you can see, plastic bands and plastic envelopes are also used.
All great big bundles of the same stamp !

The old timers bundled them with thread -- both vertically and horizontally -- for a secure package.

"You know you're a stamp collector when..."
...you see a picture of lots of little bundles of the same stamp, and you think it looks kinda interesting, and although you're not exactly sure why, or what you would do with them... you still want some...

Some of the bundleware we have had the privilege of using recently.
It has made a big job a lot easier.

Hopefully it will help our youngest child's endeavours in music!

I don't wish to hijack this thread, but KGV Collector, I have a lot of loose, sorted, Australian stamps (I would estimate 15-20,000) if you need more. If you do, drop me a note :-)
