I believe I have identified this stamp in Scott Specialized as an RF2. However, Scott doesn't show a listing for the "A.D. 1898." overprint. Is there a separate catalog listing for it?

It is however a "A. Dougherty" local.

Thanks. I originally thought A.D. stood for "anno domini" as it relates to the year, but now I know it's really an "A. Dougherty" Playing Card Company local.

Although my particular stamp overprint isn't referenced, I did look up some playing card stamps online and came upon this reference that I thought was quite interesting:
