grrrr, I just got burned for the second time on a Scotts VII album.

I didn't read the fine print 1968-1970, I managed to just read all pages present.
and its non returnable.. somehow they managed to split out the 70-71 years so I actually only got 1/2 of volume 7... this one was a replacement for the one quoted as pages slightly rippled, well its really rippled and smells like smoke... I should have bought our member offered volume 7 two months ago, I never learn...

this last ones pages are very nice too bad I still need 1/2 of 1970 and all 1971 for it to complete volume 7...

end of rant...

Edwin,

If you paid by PayPal, the seller MUST accept returns. That's one of the nice things about PayPal.

However, if the seller actually described accurately what you got, I'm not sure how that works.

But long and short, you can return anything if you use PayPal.

well, in the end he offered a 50% refund on a $30 purchase price and it would cost 12 to send it back, so I'm just calling it a life lesson in reading more closely and asking more questions.
I believe its the hazard of to many items on a watch list.

thanks for the info I didn't know that!

While I haven't read the listing description for the item you bought, it is annoying when sellers go to extremes to describe an item in a way so that the shortcomings/faults are not obvious.

They shouldn't write all pages present and describe it is a Scott Volume VII at the same time. That's like describing a straight edge stamp as being all teeth present, and then writing "in the smile and on three sides".

khj - can't agree more.

Funny - but today, I just got burned on ebay for a similar item - a Scott "Album". I bought an "album" and only got pages....

In my case, the seller was awesome. I sent an email to him requesting a paypal payment to my account so I could send the item back. He immediately refunded my money and also sent me more than I had asked for to send it back.

Of course, I've added him to my "Favorite Seller's" list. He just got the description wrong and life is too short........

P.S. Edwin - as khj suggested, I do find it weird that the guy would break up the pages like that and then try to pass it off as a "normal" album.

This is actually a fairly widespread practice -- and I hate it. A few good sellers will state "album pages" or "pages only" immediately after "Scott". Never assume the binder or dustcase comes with it unless it is specifically mentioned or you confirm. Usually when a seller states something like 2-vol or 3-vol, then the binder comes with it. Best to KNOW YOUR SELLER.

I can't really fault the re-sellers. The manufacturers do the same thing. They sell the pages, binders, dustcases separately. On some of the major countries, they will offer "bundles", but you pretty much have to buy the entire set of album pages as part of the "bundle". However, when you buy the pages from a catalog listing, it is immediately obvious that you are ONLY getting pages. In auction listings, many times it is NOT obvious.
